  1. Currently, most all trucks being used on 0.4.8+ stall when idling for less than a minute.  In order to fix this issue, we need to edit the .truck file.  Following these steps should make this process as simple as possible.

    1. Pick the truck you wish to fix and copy its .truck file somewhere outside its .zip file.

    2. Open the .truck file in a text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, etc.) and locate the engoption section.

    mW30uir.png

    3. Change the entire engoption section with the following:

    engoption
    1, c, 5000.0, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 300, 800, 0.3, 0.0

    HpT2i5n.png

    4. Save the .truck file and place it into the .zip for the truck.

    5. The truck should not stall when left idling now.

Credit to Treevus for providing the changes to the engoption.

  2. What better of a way to kick of a new year, new decade, and the 10th year of Sim-Monsters than with a special event.

We will be hosting a 24 truck racing and freestyle event at World Finals 20 on January 11, 2020 using 0.4.8.

The race timers on the track will be used for qualifying and racing, which should provide us with more accurate times.

Be sure to show up for a fun time!  Even if you aren't competing, we will have a full live stream for everyone to watch and enjoy!

  4. Testmobile Vehicles Pack

Here is a pack of higher quality vehicles for everyone to use on their tracks.  I modeled mesh colliders for each vehicle to help you guys get started with this pack.  Be sure to use them and set the vehicles themselves as non-collidable to avoid lag.

Feel free to edit the models, textures, or mesh colliders as you wish (some of the tires are better than others).

These vehicles were made by Testmobile on the Unity Asset Store, be sure to check out his work:
    https://assetstore.unity.com/publishers/1334

This pack was originally in the UAA - City Props - Vehicle asset package, which can be found here:
    https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/vehicles/land/uaa-city-props-vehicles-120339

If you use this pack either use the following credits or link to this download when uploading to the site!

  6. So .dll files are very powerful and can make changes to your system.  Do not download or get them from people unless its a trusted source, essentially just from Microsoft or the developer that makes it.

As for the GUI, it might just be easier for you to use the CMD executed server.  Just follow the tutorial here:

    https://docs.rigsofrods.org/gameplay/multiplayer-server-setup/

Just download the version for 0.38.67-0.4.6RC3 (RoRNet 2.37) if you are using 0.4.6 and follow the instructions it details.  Just be sure to use lan instead of inet when you are doing the settings, the server will not work in inet mode for some reason.

  7. Well I want to try out a new racing format and figured why not host a Fun Run next Friday and try it out.

I want to try using a 2 Stage Format (Round Robin and Main Stage).  If you haven't heard of a Round Robin before, it's fairly straight forward.

    • 16 truck racing event
    • Field is split into 4 groups of 4
    • All 4 drivers in a group race each other (1v2, 1v3, 1v4, 2v3, 2v4, 3v4)
    • The driver with the most wins in their stage moves into the Main Stage
    • Ties will be broken based on the result of their Head-to-Head match-up in the group (i.e. 1 and 2 tie with 2 wins, but 1 beat 2 in their race, so 1 moves on)
    • The Main Stage will consist of the 4 drivers that moved out of their Group Stage
    • The Main Stage will be a standard 4 truck bracket

In order to save time and keep racing to under 60 minutes, we will also be attempting to host races in two servers at the same time.

Freestyle will be straight forward, 2 minutes, NAMT style/scoring (little to no RII, all stunts allowed).

  8. All I've seen is that no one wants to hear a dissenting opinion.  Agree with it or not, blowing off the discussion while continuing to participate in it isn't exactly productive.  Neither is it productive to make accusations while dangling evidence out of sight of those being accused.

I don't see much else positive coming from this thread at this point, so I'll be locking it up.

If you have nothing nice to say (or add to a conversation), don't say anything at all.

  11. We have finally reached the climax of the first ever season of NAMT.  After a great night of racing @iZonarYT took home a Grand Championship Racing win, defeating @Andrew in the finals.  It was an exclamation point on Will Meyer's Racing Championship, as he tied himself in racing wins with none-other-than Andrew Sheets.  Racing saw some wild races, upsets, and wrecks; and freestyle kept up that momentum for the rest of the night.  Early on @CIDRA racer threw it down with a wild freestyle run that held up for most of the night.  However it was @monsterjamcod0329 that would take the half-point lead and would hold on for the Grand Championship Freestyle win.  With the event concluded, we were finally able to crown our Overall and Freestyle Points Champions.  With it was nearly decided going into the event, and with no major upsets in the final standings, @iZonarYT was able to hold on and take home an Overall Points Championship, giving him two points titles in one season.  @Andrew was also able to keep it all together and take the Freestyle Points Championship.  Congratulations to both and to everyone else who took home a win this season.

Well I want to take a moment to thank you all for making NAMT a success.  I know it's been a while since I've hosted a league, and I'm happy that you all showed up and made this all happen.  I thought I may have been asking for too much with an exclusively custom league, but you guys made some amazing customs for the site.  I want to also thank everyone that was helping during events this season, @AaronLurie, @Double.D ッ, @monsterjamcod0329, @Zach Nicholas, @Jack Merkle, and @NavySonicShell for his morale support.  These guys had as much of, or even more of a part, in NAMT running smoothly as it did.

I have just a few things left to update you all on before calling this season to a close.  We have a few videos still scheduled to come out, Tacoma being first.  After that we will have highlights from the Grand Championship and full event coverage over three videos.  This all should be out over the next few weeks.  Additionally I will be putting together some awards to give out, I should have something put together sometime this week.  Otherwise that will be all for NAMT Season 1.

I don't know what the future holds for NAMT, life outside the site is becoming more of a focus than the life on here.  But I know for a fact if I'm doing anything else for this league, I'm damn sure I'm not making all the tracks next time. 😂

Hope you guys had a fun time and thanks again!
