  1. File Name: Remington County Fairgrounds Round 2 File Submitter: Hot Shoe File Submitted: 27 Dec 2012 File Category: Tracks ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION*** One of my beta testers seemed to be plagued by lag on this track. After removal of the chain-link fencing, the track ran much smoother. Therefore, I made two versions. Mirror 1 is the more detailed track. Mirror 2 is the LOW LAG version with the chain-link fencing removed. Remington County Fairgrounds is another track that I first created in MTM2. The inspiration from this track came from the brilliant MTM2 track made by Dustin Hart called Laurance County Fair. One of my all-time favorites. I wanted to make a fairgrounds style track, and I wanted it to be big, crazy, and fun. This second incarnation in the Remington Fairgrounds series fulfilled this goal of mine, as did it’s previous incarnation. Now it is back and better than ever in RoR! Additional notes: All the signs on the track have been set with no-collide properties. The fencing is also set with no-collide properties. For fun, the Truck Shop is in place for you to swap between your favorite trucks anytime you like. Credits: Stands, and field: Me. Stands/Crowd/Concrete Textures: Google edited by me. Crowd edited by Rock Crwler. Signs/poles: Me. Dirt Textures: Slickster edited by Me. Grass Textures: Me. Fencing: Constructed by Me. Textures from the RoR Repository. Fence code provided by Mitch Bumpass. Connex trailers: Me. Flatbed trailer: RockCrwler edited by Me. Cars: Casey Graves and Liquid Fire, Rock Crwler, Mark Colineri. Vans: Casey Graves and Liquid Fire. Breadvan: Rock Crwler. Box van: ARF edited by Me. Garabage Truck: Rock Crwler. NGK Spark Plugs logo: Liquid Fire. 3. Welcome to the forums! Currently, we run special events or funruns. Information is posted on this site in a specific thread where we sign up with our preferred truck providing that truck hasn't been signed up for use by someone else. We then have to qualify in to make the actual show. Mostly this consists of 16 Competitors and in my time the most of seen is 20. The current special event that is coming up is Allmonsters Eve 3 this weekend. Recently, more and more leagues have begun to appear throughout the forum. They work like Funruns or special events accept you run a full race season that can consist of 10 or more events over the course of the season. Sign ups for them work in the same manner as the funruns and special events. The current leagues to watch for that are coming up is Outlaws Racing League and International Dragging Series.
  4. Remington County Fairgrounds Round 2 Freestyle:
  5. For Christmas my Grandma gave me a card with 30 bucks in it. Mom and dad also got me a card. My best friend surprised me with this: If you haven't ever seen this movie, or heard of it, shame on you. One of my favorite movies. It's probably the reason why I have developed such a strong love and fascination for Formula 1. I didn't ask for it specifically or expect it. Needless to say it was the best gift I've gotten in a long time. The intro still give me chills...
  6. My next MTM2 remake started life from the inspiration of one of my favorite tracks made by Dustin Hart called Laurance County Fair. Not to knock Dustin, but I wanted mine bigger, badder, and crazier. The track was Remington County Fairgrounds, and this is round 2 of that series. MTM2: RoR:
  7. While it isn't the best looking thing in the world (kind of like it's real world counterpart) I am happy with how it turned out as it's my first full fledged attempt at making a vehicle object.
  8. Three consecutive posts? There is an edit button for that.
  9. I can help you with the chain link fence. I have a texture and information that I got from thundro1 that I have been using on my figure 8 tracks. I will get you the info next time I'm at my computer.
  10. I spent too much time on this... I am quite pleased at how well it came out. The trailer base (tires, mudflaps, etc.) are Klayton's. I extruded the verts for the enclosed portion. The trailer textures are from the RoR repository. Mud flaps, rim, and tire tread textures are from various sources on Google, edited by me. This is a freestyle obstacle that will be seen on an upcoming track for Alex's IDS league. The track? An MTM2 remake of Remington County Fairgrounds Round 2 . Watch for it in the coming weeks!
  11. Dare I offer you you a name for that beast Wambo? How about...Nomad Bro? Derp. My bad. Nice War Wagon, friend!
  12. I drove many trucks in my time of MTM2. Remembering that far back in time is like trying to look over an entire lifetime. 10 years ago seems so far back in the past. After I had discovered the MTM2 communities (most notably KC's MTM2 Place), I signed up for Corey (ChillyDog) Davis' MJO (Monster Jam Online) freestyle league as it came to be called. I signed up to run the offline portion. The way the offline portion worked is that you'd do your best 2 min freestyle run on the track for that week. You'd save the replay, and send it to Corey. At the end of the week, results would be posted with full coverage and pictures of who did what during their freestyle run. Driving Black Smith (freestyle short wheelbase version), at the first offline show in the schedule I scored 29 (out of 30) with a flip and save at the end of my run, and won the first event in my first showing in the first league I ever participated in. For some shows of the season I was allowed to drive Gunslinger, and swapped back and forth between the two trucks as needed throughout the season. At the end of the season, I lost the title by three points to Robby Haught. Was great fun, and not a bad result to introduce myself into the world of MTM2 leagues. Next I signed up for Robby Haught's NTNT league. In this league I debuted the first "Hot Shoe" truck. This was the first league where I started participating in the online aspect of the game. I raced on 56k dial up. How I was ever competitive I'll never know. My first showing in online MTM2 league racing resulted in me winning a round one race, only to be stopped by Robby Haught in Round 2. I never did well in this league as again, it was the first league I ever participated in online. Yet, I continued to participate, and honed my craft for future leagues. NTNT went on to deservedly be called "the best MTM2 league". My first event racing win came in RMJS. I took the win against Cory Schwab at St. Louis 2003, still in Hot Shoe 1. I contacted Alex (Trans Am) Weber (who at the time ran the Xtreme MTM2 Truck Shop) to assemble and paint a second Hot Shoe truck for me. I called it "Hot Shoe Competition Crusher". The more Alex and I talked and raced, the more we got to know each other. This lead to Alex and I starting Insanity Racing Team as it later came to be called. This also resulted in a wonderful friendship with Alex. Having Hot Shoe CC I signed up for Josh Rhodes' USIRA league. In this league I had some of my best showings in both racing and freestyle. I had many back to back racing wins and strong showings. The most memorable race for me was at the end of the season at Slickster's World Finals 2. Robby Haught (who had already claimed the overall title) sent me in the right hand lane (left hand turn at the end of the stadium) which I didn't run in all night. However, I won the race. After a few issues that came about, a rerun was agreed upon which saw me win the race for a second time. Again, there was a problem. Another rerun was called which resulted in me winning the race for a third time. After that, both Robby and I had both decided that was enough. Robby swept the entire racing, freestyle, and overall title, with me hot on his heels across the board in second. The racing points showed that I lost by 5 points to Robby. One of my favorite leagues to have participated in. Sometime after USIRA, Alex had assembled and painted my third Hot Shoe truck, while I upgraded from 56k dial up to cable. With the "Hot Shoe Competition Demolisher" Ford SUV bodied truck completed I raced in Kevin (Suicidal Maniac) Kaffenberger's USMJS league. During a point in the season Alex pulled me out of Hot Shoe and put me in the newly assembled, newly named "Renegade". Reluctant to stray from my Hot Shoe name, I drove Renegade for the rest of the USMJS season. I claimed both the racing, and overall title. My only MTM2 title that I have ever claimed. This was the best showing in any MTM2 league I ever had. I won many events, and doubled down at least once at Slickster's Minneapolis 3-13-04 track which was very well probably the last event/event win for my "Hot Shoe" truck before it was retired. Trucks driven: Black Smith. Gunslinger. Hot Shoe 1. Hot Shoe CC. Hot Shoe CD. Renegade.
  13. You just don't stop do you Alex? Truck looks amazing! AA Grinder is stunning Klayton! Great jobs on the shops Dalton and Crazy! Smokin' stuff!
  14. Since it seems that some of you have ignored the description of how to run this track that was both posted on the track's download page, the Author's Notes text file, and the included image that I attached in this track's zip file, I will post this here. Please follow this guide: At the start line (the Saran Wrap section), you accelerate forward to the first right hand turn through the “Alleyway”, and into a short straight section before making your 2nd long, wide right handed turn. Upon entering the Chicago Style layout, you’ll straighten back out, and fly across the first set of cars, into a tight left hand turn. Accelerate along the straight, and fly over the second set of cars, into another tight left hand turn. Again, accelerate along the straight, and across the final set of cars to the finish. Once you enter the Chicago style portion of the track, you have three hits over the cars/ramps. Also note: We are running on San Marco SECOND STOP. Not the First Stop (2005) version. Please make sure you have the correct track when you get in game. Thank you, and good luck to all qualifiers!
  15. I'll look into it. I must state however that it is MY personal truck to be used only by me in leagues/special events/fun runs unless I otherwise agree upon letting someone use it if they ask me.
  16. File Name: San Marco Arena 1st Stop (2005) File Submitter: Hot Shoe File Submitted: 20 Dec 2012 File Category: Tracks Thank you for downloading San Marco Arena 1st Stop (2005). This is the first version of the San Marco series of tracks, and was my last best track that I released in MTM2. The racing course for both the monster trucks and offroad trucks is a classic St. Louis Style, twin oval layout. The freestyle is off the hook. Complete with wild and crazy obstacles/hits with plenty of opportunity for crossthread, slap wheelies, sky wheelies, and just about anything else you dare to pull off. Play it smart. This is not a track that is meant to be “Meents’d” over. Additional notes: All the signs and poles on the track have been set with no-collide properties. The signs are for decoration. The poles are not necessarily meant for penalties. They are in place as a guide of where the racing course and direction is. For fun, the Truck Shop is in place for you to swap between your favorite trucks anytime you like. Credits: Stadium built by me. Dirt textures: Me. Ramp textures: Me. Crowd texture: Me. Thanks: Special thanks go out to my many beta testers. Thank you for all your testing, and support! Thanks also go out to the many kind people who have donated/supplied me with wonderful models/art/resources in which I build my tracks with. Thank you all! Enjoy! Click here to download this file
  17. While it isn't action shots of a truck at a "testing facility", this was more of a personal project for me. It's nothing big or special. Just something I threw together for the fun of it: Ten years ago, I had just discovered a community of talented individuals who made an amazing wealth of add-ons for a game titled Monster Truck Madness 2. I started participating in leagues, got involved with the MTM2 community, and learned/develop how to build my own series of tracks. I eventually called myself “Hot Shoe” within the community. It became my persona; my alias. Eventually I wanted my own custom truck. Because I was a newbie at the time and did not know how to build/edit/paint trucks, I asked for a stock Bigfoot truck to be repainted for me in a theme of my own design by "Phineus". The result (don't laugh too hard): After a few years of use, and a few wins, I talked with Alex "Trans Am" Weber of the "Xtreme MTM2 Truck Shop" asking him to make me a more elaborate truck. This eventually spawned two more trucks under the Hot Shoe name, the creation of the Insanity Racing Team, and a friendship I truly hold dear with Alex. Eventually, I was forced to drop the Hot Shoe name on my trucks. It was replaced with a series of trucks I piloted titled "Renegade". But "Hot Shoe" was never forgotten or replaced. Then, after having discovered Rigs of Rods, and Sim-Monsters.com thanks to Josh Rhodes, I again began to get involved with the community learning and building tracks. Eventually it had to happen: "Hot Shoe" had to be brought back. I'm very happy to say that it has been brought back, with my greatest thanks to Alex "runt9" Vester for reviving my old piece. "Hot Shoe" has been reborn: I almost didn't realize that this year was ten years since finding/getting involved with the communities of MTM2, and getting my first custom "Hot Shoe" truck. This year, I found/got involved with the community here at SM, and got an updated, revived "Hot Shoe" truck. I truly didn't plan it that way. Thank you for all your support, beta testing, help and co-operation with the projects I've released. Thank you for the fun runs and special events we've had that I participated in thus far. Whether I make the field or not, I hope you all enjoy yourselves and have fun at Allmonsters Eve 3!

  19. That is quite an inaccurate statement. Many Replicas have been made and many are to be released. While I understand that you only mean to ask a question, it can come off to some as you whining or being ungrateful over "a lack of content". That being said: I encourage you to try and learn Blender, and tr?ck making. I encourage you to try creating many tr?cks so that if you so feel that the "replica content" in this game is lacking, that you may create your own and "fill the gaps" as it were. Personally I prefer customs to replicas. Replicas keep you bound to try to duplicate a real world track/venue in virtual form. You have to try and replicate in exacting detail the look/feel/size of a venue provided you have good reference photos. If you fail at making something 100% accurate, then an influx of people will complain about how this and that are incorrect to the actual show. Some people are more talented to replicate such venues than others. For others, like myself, it's a personal taste to create fantasy shows. Customs for me allow free flowing, free thinking design and creativity. I don't have to be held back by trying to replicate a specific van stack, or size of the stadium. For me, it's just more fun to create something that was envisioned in the mind and make it happen.
  20. Current pics of San Marco Arena 2005 Freestyle:
  21. Realized that in 2002 I received my first custom truck, participated in leagues, and got involved with the Monster Truck Madness community. 10 years later, I've gotten involved with the Rigs of Rods/Sim-Monsters community, raced in some league/special events/fun runs/and have my original truck/name back. Weird how that ended up working out. Not planned at all, but amazing all the same.

  22. Really is a good looking truck, Alex! Send chills down my spine ever time I look at it or drive it. How I've missed my truck... Special part about this truck is that I have a VERY limited edition version of it: Mine came with no drive shafts!
  23. Right on. Alien for sure! And Michael: that track looks amzing thus far!
