    Just an Update

Don't lose too much interest. I'd hate to think all my hard work has been for naught.
  2. Now if only we had some leafers to run on this thing... Renegades Tin and Redman Pouch as seen in the video below:
  3. Then and now huh? My then and now dates of course all the way back to MTM2. Starting with this: Thundergrounds Monster Truck Challenge was the very first track I created, and released in MTM2. I had just learned Traxx by taking Traxx school, and was so thrilled to finally get something in game. The track was laggy as I had forgotten to purge the unused models/art, the racing lanes uneven, and the stands too close to the turns. Therefor, you'd get caught up in the wall easily. Yet, it was a start... Tallahassee Florida Monster Jam was I believe the fourth custom track I had ever created/released, and was an amazing benchmark in my track making endeavors. I had been taught many tips and tricks by Robby Haught, whom I greatly thank to this day for the time he took to take me under his wing. His advise is the reason why my tracks were as incredible as they came out to be. The name was inspired thanks to Dustin Hart. I remember not being able to find a name for my track. I wanted it to be special and fitting for what I had accomplished. Yet, I was stuck. I messaged Dustin on AIM (why I chose him I don't remember). When I spoke to him about my problem, he simply replied "what is the capital of your state?" I answered "Tallahassee". He said "name it after something like that". That is how this track's name came about. Since at the time I had just started playing Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, I titled the arena the "Fifth Freedom Center of America". I'm still proud of this old track: San Marco Arena 2005 was my last best track that I made and released in MTM2. It eventually replaced my Tallahassee Florida track series. San Marco was the craziest track I had built at the time with many ideas that hadn't been done much at the time. Such as placing signage atop freestyle obstacles, and making numerous, fluid sideways, cross thread hits. On to RoR. For some reason I started out trying to make tracks by bringing back a track that I never finished from MTM2. San Marco Arena 2nd Stop. It ended up being a bit bigger than the MTM2 version, and nothing like it's MTM2 counter part as far as Freestyle goes. What remained was my wild "Saran Wrap" racing layout, and Pro Stadium offroad course. On the freestyle, I took creative liberties on it as I wanted to test myself and see what I could really accomplish on my first RoR track. Looking back, it still has many flaws: Ugly textures/texturing, laggy bits, etc. Yet again, it was the beginning. MTM2: RoR: Move on a few tracks later. I am now currently in the process of making my best track yet: Clarkson International Autodrome: A few caparison shots: Mankato Speedway. MTM2 (1980's TNT Figure 8 racing). Inspired from the Renegades TNT coverage from Toledo, Ohio: RoR (Modern Day/ORL). The DTC crown jewel: New Liberty Stadium 3. Fully created by Jason Lloyd "Mr. Destruction" and finished by me. MTM2: RoR:
  4. You need OGRE XML Converter/OGRE Meshes Exporter. If you already have it and can't export, read here. I had a similar problem when I first started making tracks. http://sim-monsters.com/index.php?/topic/2762-blender-249b-ogre-xml-converter-error-message/?hl=%2Bblender+%2Bexport
  5. So you'd rather the small stuff be overlooked? Those small errors could be a glaring problem to some. I'd rather Harlow, or anyone else point out errors/flaws in exacting detail. If you're going to put out a product, and make it as best as you possibly can, then you have to be open to criticism of all types and forms and be willing to have someone point those errors out to you. It may come off as abrasive, or rude. Rather I think it's straight forward and to the point. Also, anyone can say "duuude that trackz is awsum cant waiit fore itz". If anything, while complimentary, it can come off as dismissive. That's why with as many beta requests that I get sometimes, I limit the betas I give out on my work because I know who will go into detail to provide me with the type of analysis I am seeking and who will just say "great work, good job". And while I'm not meaning to completely bash you down (that is not the intent of this post), if you don't like what someone has to say, then don't read what they have to say.
  6. Here is something different from me. Taking it back in time... It is a custom 1980's style monster truck venue with a Brian Carson style stunt ramp/jump in the middle.
  7. Klayton! I'm stunned speechless. I'm amazed! Love the way the truck looks, demko.
  8. What? Fellow modders can't point out the bits that need mending, calmly pointing out any flaws and patiently trying to explain the parts that need touching up? It can happen....
  9. Crushker is correct. You can find the Bobcat and Hyster forklift vehicles on the RoR repository. Just be sure to download the squishy version of the Bobcat.
  10. Both of them look great. I wasn't around when you were making tracks, demko, but the MTM2 version looks amazing, and the RoR remake looks fantastic!
  11. Clarkson International Autodrome was created/made specifically for runt9's International Dragging Series. Alex and I talked on tracks, and filling the schedule. At his request for a track to be made, and liking my idea for a venue to be in the UK, this track was born. This is the first track I've made/will release in RoR that isn't a remake to MTM2. This is all brand new, fresh stuff specifically for RoR. My partner JR Seasock also had many ideas in the making of this track, such as the idea for a circular floor/building (the design/look however is mine), as well as the racing course. The idea of a bent bendy bus obstacle is mine, along with all the freestyle obstacles on course. However, JR again played a major part in helping me to shape the freestyle course so there wouldn't be too much, or too little. One last thing: remember my previews for the Morris Marina, Elddis Shamal XL, and Ford Transit? Yep. This track is what those models were for.
  12. "TONIGHT! We visit a track that has been built in a TOP SECRET location. Located in Doncaster, off the M18, near Alverley. Some say that it only took the Stig 12 hours to construct this Biblical monument to all things speed, and POWEEEEEEER, and that all he had for nourishment, was asparagus. While we don't know how this building was created, or WHY it was created, all we know, is that it's called Clarkson International Autodrome."
  13. I haven't posted anything in a while. Here is a small update for ORL Figure 8 Shootout at Mankato Speedway. These shots show small updates to the track from what I originally posted. These shots are also from the final version of the track. This track will be uploaded closer to the actual ORL event under Mark's discretion. The start/finish line/track signs/billboard now sport the new ORL Logo. The track now has two new freestyle obstacle additions as requested by Mark Colineri: an rv hit and box truck obstacle. As you can see, the track now sports light poles. The light poles were made and added to the track after strongly being encouraged to do so by my cohort JR Seasock. A LOW LAG version will be released without light poles or fencing.
  14. IXI 2XTREME IXI. I play tons of games: Forza 4. Forza Horizon. Saints Row 2/Saints Row the Third. GTA IV. Mercenaries 2. Crackdown/Crackdown 2. Borderlands 2. CoD 4 MW/MW2/MW3. Splinter Cell Conviction. Red Dead Redemption. They're are more that I can't currently think of. Whatever suits my mood.

    Tampa 2012

If the track is functional and fun to play on, who cares if the cinematic camera doesn't work well? Klayton, this is truly a wonderful piece you have here. It's a wonderful recreation of a venue I've been to for a few years. I truly feel like I'm inside Raymond James Stadium. I'm having so much fun launching my truck off all these jumps in freestyle. Great work!
  16. I'm a huge fan of the Forza series (I have and played every game except Forza on Xbox). Horizon is incredible. My favorite part is the small tweaks added to the paint shop. It's so much easier to paint a car. The online play (Playground Games) is especially fun. Search for my designs under my GT: IXI 2XTEME IXI.
  17. Ya'll young bucks who've not played or heard of this game have no idea what you missed out on... Other games: I grew up as part of the N64 crowd. One of my all time favorites is Top Gear Rally. This game is memorable for two reasons: The incredible music that got me hooked, and the paint shop which allowed you to FREE-HAND paint designs on the many cars in the game. World Driver Championship was a wonderful game that I absolutely enjoyed. So many cars, so many races around the world, and grooving tunes by Zack Ohren! This game was unique to me in that you could sign on to race under different teams. You would recieve varying letters from the boss of the specific team you raced for. He'd either praise you if you raced well and won, or chastize you for poor results. And probably what was one of my all time favorite racing games on the N64 was the San Francisco Rush Series. I have both Rush 2 and Rush 2049. Both were a blast to play and unique in their own ways. Rush 2 had you racing over numerous tracks in the USA. The thumping drum and bass tunes grabbed me and didn't let go. The stunt track was an incredibly fun mode where you would perform the craziest stunts you could manage in the stunt arena sandbox. My dad and I wasted many Saturdays enjoing this mode. Rush 2049 continued with the same winning formula of Rush 2, except the whole series fast fowarded time to the year 2049, where cars could sprout wings once airborne to create further distance jumps, and even wilder stunts in one of four stunt tracks. The electronic drum and bass tunes absoultley entranced me. I couldn't get enough of this game. Once I got a PlayStation, I fell in love with Gran Turismo 2 which was another incredible game that I invested many hours into. I loved racing on the numerous tracks (Midfield Raceway is my all time favorite). I loved the rocking in-race tunes and the Jazzy music in the menus. I also loved upgrading cars to make them faster, and better handling. This game takes me back.
  18. Robbie you're too much. I must say I didn't expect this, but thank you. Thank you guys for the birthday wishes!
  19. Klayton, thank you so much for supplying us with these textures. This is great stuff! What technique/tools do you use to get the sponsor banners to have the ripple effect of the blank banner? I know it involves layering but what properties/mode should the layers have?
  20. Very impressive to both Johan and Alex!
  21. What an amazing looking piece. Some nice flame work there...
