Massive thanks to @Chazzymp for painting the logos and some of the decals for this truck and Trevor Michalesko/TM Creations for making pretty much all the props. I modeled the body and gave the truck a new node/beam.

I'm new at this... what software is everyone using to edit/create body files for these trucks?

Thanx

Toughest project I've done to date, but it helped push my blender skills to another level.

For those wondering, this is the chassis that originally started out as Mega Merc and has run a multitude of names since. This is as close to what it looks like current day as I can get, not enough pics of it sans body to get it 100% accurate but it's good enough.

North Country Bandit 7 and 6 are pretty much complete, minus some cloning work. 7 is replacing 5, 6 is replacing 4, and both continue the tradition of the odd numbered front engine truck being a black chassis, and the even numbered rear engine truck being silver/grey.

6 in particular has a paint scheme that I'm particularly proud of. I've spent the last six months working on this truck, with NCB KB43VER, a tribute truck to the late, great Ken Block. featuring the first Ford body in my fleet (thank you Killswitch) as a callback to the hoonitruck. the color scheme and livery are a combination homage to the trophy truck run by Ken in the 2021 Baja 1000, using the livery pattern from the original Hornicorn. NCB KB43VER also marks the first time I've attempted a split paint scheme, and it's a doozy: the base colors fade from pink/purple/blue on the passenger side, and blue/purple/pink on the driver side. BUT THERE'S MORE! The overlaid Hoonicorn livery then FLIPS that on each side! (blue/purple/pink on the passenger side, pink/purple/blue on the driver's side). The shocks and rims also follow this same pattern. With the final touches from Christian featuring new lexan plates on the cradle and roof, this truck has really come together as what is likely my personal favorite paint scheme. RIP Ken Block.

To comment on NCB 7, I decided to take the original NCB 5 paint scheme done by Bryant all the way back in summer 2020, and flip the colors: featuring blue-white flames with pink pinstriping, this paint scheme had to be painstakingly retraced from the original file due to the limitations of paint.net. I also added some personal flares to it to bring it in line with my own personal growth in life, with Organize And Arise Promotions (a large underground promotion agency for music in the Twin Cities) and Extreme Noise Records (a grassroots record store in Minneapolis that is hands-down one of the largest concentrations of DIY/underground punk music in the world, that I once had the privilege to assist with), this truck is a reflection of who I am, and what I stand for/with at this time. Music is where I'm turning to next, it's what brings me true joy and happiness in life.

Finally, these trucks feature a rather unique and challenging setup. Seeing how I'm regularly gatekept from sim tours due to rather convenient ban timing (seriously this is the third goddamn year in a row), I decided to say "screw it" and get experimental with these trucks, setting them up to try and find a way to drive that works for ME while also keeping them sim-legal. For an extra challenge, the front differentials on both of these trucks can open, leading to them being able to take hairpin turns at the expense of handling at high speed. if you get out of shape while driving these, you're pretty much screwed lol. I'm sure some people will have as much fun as I have had trying to master these beasts. Naturally they don't have any testing in competition, but oh well that's just how it goes.

anyways, essay over. these'll be up by the end of July.

For the Nth time, not a bro. And yes, I did make an entire essay, it’s almost like I lampshade myself for it in the post, Captain Obvious.
