  2. A lot of you are forgetting that a major selling point on the move from MTM2 to RoR was not only the much more realistic physics but also that it was and still remains a free game. BeamNG has potential but at the moment RoR is now in seemingly good hands after it was pretty much abandoned in favor of BeamNG. Right now I say just enjoy the fact that we have options we didn't have five years ago. Also as of I would say 2010 if you don't have a rather good computer you're not going to be able to run a lot of games very well unless they're optimized ridiculously well but even then you will have to make some compromises on quality in favor of performance.

    Brad you should post the SMORA logo you made in this thread somewhere. Also I think we're better off using a private server since there are already so many of us planning to race in this.
  6. To make it short like Demko, no or not until you have at least some experience with competing in leagues as it's not gone well for anyone that just jumped in and started a league right away.

All right, I've been back and forth on whether or not this was worth posting because I know it will probably aggravate someone or probably cause some sort of senseless argument but it's really something that annoys me and lately I've found I'm not the only one. There really is no need to have every single texture for your truck or track 2048x2048 or higher, the only things I can completely understand being 2048x2048 are the body and other textures which you see pretty much all of whereas a small bolt or even battery texture shouldn't have to be more than 1024x1024. We all know how poorly optimized RoR is without any of this being brought up but lately some of the trucks getting released I've seen have several 2048x2048 single colour textures... there is no need at all for this. A 10x10 would easily suffice for a solid single colour, making it a massive size with do absolutely nothing to the quality of it. Spec maps are a similar thing, you don't need to have them superbly large, 512x512 or 1024x1024 should be plenty. I understand we all want good quality everything but as we have all found out at one time or another that doesn't always work very well when it comes to this game so while we don't have very many limitations there are things we can do to help improve performance for everyone.
  14. My own personal annoyance with that and seeing people blame their poor spelling on being in a hurry yet they will typically spell out words much longer than the ones they shorten. Now for something on topic....

  16. Not sure why everyone is complaining about the props. The only outdated prop I noticed was the fuel cell which I made years ago and haven't redone and the only other option at the moment I know of is Johan's Jaz fuel cell which is not uploaded on here. The steering wheel sometimes I prefer to not have and I know some people that use a wheel would likely agree on that. I noticed a minor issue with textures on the engine but you don't really notice it unless you go looking for it but other than that I think it's excellent and it handles extremely well.
  17. Change sky type to Caleum in the configurator then you can change the time of day. I believe it's + and - on the numpad and you can hold shift or control to accelerate the time movement speed.

  21. While it may not be the most impressive thing, we all have to start learning somewhere. I'm not directing this at anyone but something I still don't understand is how quick everyone jumps on someone trying to learn how to build something and while it may not be the best or most impressive why not try and be somewhat thankful that new people are at least trying to learn? I don't ever remember anything like this happening in MTM2 or even the early days of SM. Yes, you're all entitled to your opinions but you don't have to be a dick about it. (Insert comment wars here) I'm surprised no one has decided to take the offroad body style and combine it with say... the Willys body. Megamerc and Mad Dog II look quite interesting though I do see a few normals issues on the chassis for Megamerc.... but that's also why it's called the "Show Your Projects" thread.
